NZ Maori v Lions

Podcast Episode - 20

NZ Maori vs Lions

The Lions won 32-10 against the NZ Maori's in the most positive display we've seen so far, from a side that looks likely to be close to the 1st Test side. This pod episode is as much noticeable for Dan's hissy fit as it is for the match analysis!!!

The match was perhaps the best indication of the Lions tactics for the test matches. The defence was quick, aggressive and in your face from the Lions and it really did work and showed a possible formula to beat the mighty All Blacks. That backed up with Leigh Halfpenny's immaculate boot will at the least have caught the All Blacks attention.

Another solid performance from Ben Teo has all but assured his place in the 23 man squad for the 1st Test. Sean O'Brien has given the selection panel real headaches and he may have secured a starting spot ahead of the tour captain Sam Warburton.

The set piece was probably the highlight of the Lions performance:
Lineouts: won 11 from 11
Scrums: won 12 from 12.

Let's hope for another solid performance on Tuesday so we can go into next Saturday's match with the belief to beat the best team in the world!
